Evergreening of pharmceutical journals_Comments from Dr. Santani

Dear All,
In blog-post dated 6th February, 2015 we had discussed about ever greening of pharmaceutical journals and asked our readers whether is it a sign of growing research in Indian pharmacy institutes?

We received a response from Dr. Devdas Santani. He has not provided his affiliation.
A profile available at http://www.rofelpharma.org/dr_d_d_santani.htm reveals that he is associated with Rofel Shri GM Bilakhia Collge of Pharmacy, Vapi, Gujrat. He carries with him more than 4 decades of experience in teaching and research.

We are reproducing the response as below.
“Research Publications have become essential for promotions as well as assessment of employees' work output. That is why regardless of the availability of research materials, more and more papers are sent for publication even at times compromising with the standard. Also some standard journals take too much time in publishing articles because of rush of papers received for publication. Therefore when there is time constraint, the papers are sent to those publishers who respond without much delay.”

Thanks Dr. Devdas Santani for sharing your valuable inputs on the topic.
